Corporate Social Responsibility
:
We
at Kumar Builders stand firm by our motto, “We Build trust.” The same is
being followed in doing our corporate social responsibility. Kumar
Builders is an accredited ISO 9001: 2008 organization and is among the
first Construction Companies to obtain an ISO 14001: 2004 Environmental
Certification, proving our commitment to a greener healthier
environment. A step ahead, being safety & health conscious, we are also an
OHSAS 18001: 2007 certified company.
Construction workers
: Workers are steel nerves of construction industry. To ensure their
physical and mental health & safety of the workers, good accommodation is
provided at site as also hygienic drainage facility, pure and potable
water supply and electricity supply is provided. Also for the safety of
children of labours working on site and also with the purpose of educating
them, mobile creche is provided at sites. The children are taught poems,
alphabets, drawing, craft, making sculpture, paper bags, etc.
Education: Other
than providing mobile creche at all sites for educating children of
construction workers, Kumar Builders has started with Adarsh Vidya Mandir
Yojana in 2001 for below average students. 200 schools have enrolled in
these 5 years from Pune and Haveli Taluka. The focus of this Yojana is
mainly on rural areas and to integrate group of intelligent students with
intellectually average or below average students. The intelligent students
will teach intellectually below average students during lunch hours or
after school hours. Since this programme is carried out, the results can
be seen by increase in percentage of passing students.
Health
:Labour health
check up camps is conducted once in 6
months at all the sites along with free medicine distribution. First aid
box is available at each site.
Ambient air and noise monitoring at every site is done at the interval of
six months. Corrective measures are taken if readings are exceeding
limits. PUC is checked of every vehicle entering site premises.
Kumar Builders has been taking various initiatives in sports activities
such as sponsorship for CEO cup in 2005 and 2006 at the Golf Club, Pune
Marathon 2007.
Environment:
Kumar Builders have been taking initiatives towards various aspects of
environment, whether it is solid waste management, increasing greenery in
city, environment education, water conservation, etc.Some of them are as
follows:

Winners in Srishti Good Green Awards 2007 by the hands of Hon’ble Smt
Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister of Delhi and Runners up in Srishti Good
Green Awards 2006.

Kumar Sublime, a residential project located in Kondhwa, Pune is the
first Eco housing project in India to get provisional certificate by
International Institute of Energy Conservation (IIEC).

1947 trees with trees guards to Pune Municipal Corporation.

In house nursery with more than 28, 000 plants developed of more than 40
varieties.

Donated more than 10,000 trees to Pune Municipal Corporation, 1200 trees
to Pune Cantonment Board, 100 trees with tree guards to Kendriya
Vidyalaya, etc

Development of butterfly and Medicinal plant zone at Cerebrum I. T.
Park.

City greenery activities as a responsible developer, activities like
traffic island landscape development at various places, and more than
1086 trees are planted with the help of PMC along road side in Pune
city.

City greening activity is expanded on wider scale to development of
Nakshatra Vatika and Environment Park. It is a concept park with an
unique concept of all indigenous plants. Big trees from road side of
municipal roads which were being cut during road widening are being
transplanted at
Environment
Park.

Development of Nakshatra Vatika developed in Pune city achieving dual
purpose of developing garden with planting species respective to
particular Nakshatra and also beautification along nala.

Solid waste management system is provided at
St. Joseph
Convent High School, where the Biosanitizer bins are constructed for the
students who segregate and maintain the waste themselves.

Bharatiya Samaj Seva Kendra (BSSK) is an orphanage started in Oct 79.
Currently there are 100 children from age group of 0 to 6 years. Kumar
Builders has donated in the form of constructing 7 Biosanitizer bins for
disposal of diapers. This project is first of its kind which is been
implemented exclusively for diapers. In 2008, Kumar Builders have
donated by constructing more 7 bins due to their requirement and
generation of more waste.

50 wooden cupboards were donated to Nisargik Shikshan Sanshodhan Va
Prashikshan Sanstha. It is a hostel for street children, child labours,
child beggars, etc.
Safety comes first : It
is of utmost priority during construction. Emergency preparedness and
response plan is effectively working at all sites and offices. Mock drills
are conducted for the same. Use of safety equipments is compulsory for
each and every person entering the site, whether it is labours, site staff
or customers. Safety measures taken at site are as follows:

Use of mask during flooring work and plastering

Barricading area before starting excavation

Use of helmets
-
Use of safety belts when working at heights.

First aid box is at each site and offices with a stretcher.
